Mike and I decided to get out of town late yesterday afternoon and head up to the mountains with another couple. We didn’t have to go far to “get away from it all” and that’s exactly why we love living where we live! About an hour outside of town and we were in the shadows of some fourteeners along with probably about 100 of our like-minded, unwashed neighbors, but not before we were stopped on the way up on the highway by a herd of big-horned sheep mindlessly eating the brush. http://twitpic.com/6cghv
We kept it easy and low-key, packing only what was already bundled in our “camp trunk” and set low expectations for dinner (hot dogs, chips, and s’mores) and breakfast (coffee and grits). The one good thing about packing the prego card on a camping trip is that it opens the door for bringing more creature comforts for future camping trips. I’m about to plan our next trip where we will be bringing the “deluxe” tent and invest in some good bedding!
