Bah!

Maxon discovered a new sound and it’s quite handy. It means the following:

Hi
Good Morning
Beast
Dikembe
Mommy
Daddy
Bottle
Yes
No

We also got a sign language book last weekend, although I have yet to get past the introduction. Hopefully we can differentiate some of these items a little better soon.

  1. Yay! Max is talking!!!!! Exciting, isn’t it? I can’t wait for him to figure out animal sounds. I think Moo, Baa, Lalala and The Very Busy Spider are great books to introduce animal sounds. You need to get Max’s “Bah!” on video!

As for the sign language – REPETITON!! Every time you say the word, do the sign too, then repeat the word and help him do the sign. Don’t worry if he looks at you funny. Malina didn’t catch on until 4-6 months later. But if you stick to it, it’s so worth it. Just don’t give up. Meal times are the best times to teach “more”, “please”, and “thank you”.

BTW – does your book teach the sign for “diaper” or “change me”? All of my videos and books don’t go over that one and I feel like it’s an important one. Although, when poop is involved, you don’t really need a sign…you can just smell it.
