And for a little side-by-side comparison:
Yesterday, Mike picked Maxon up from school and clearly Maxon was trying to convey a message to Daddy. Without proper context, some of Maxon’s pronunciations are pretty tough to decipher. Finally, Mike was able to decode “grocery store”. Vigorous nods from Maxon. Mike asked, “what are we getting from the grocery store?” to which Maxon replied, “flowers for Mommy!” So off they go to Alfalfa’s where Mike followed Maxon into the store, watched as he selected which bunch he liked best and ceremoniously removed it from the bucket and strode to the checkout line. I’m not sure who got more props: Maxon for leading the charge or Mike for hanging with the coolest kid in town.
Don’t feel bad if it takes some MC Escher-eque perspective to see it…
We started off with a quick little visit from Tita, followed by a longer visit with Lola, a trip to Sunflower Farm, and an even bigger trip out to Nashville for a good friend’s wedding. Words are boring–here’s a photo bomb!
Sigh. Another tardy post. Where does the time go? We had our anatomy scan on October 12th and found out that Maxon will be a big brother to a little brother! The ultrasound machine certainly has improved in the last couple of years and I found myself a tad emotional seeing the little alien squirming around with such brightness and clarity. We confirmed he has all his body parts in all the places and in the right proportions, measured approximately 10 inches long, weighed about 11 ounces, and is an avid thumb-sucker. He is growing right on track and is quite active all.day.long to boot. I think we have another mover-and-shaker on our hands!
